Fire Arts has expanded into mid-range Cone 5/6 ceramics. This Spring term features new classes to introduce the methods, clays, glazes and surface decoration techniques using Cone 5/6 clay.
Cone 5/6 is known as mid-range. It is very durable stoneware and porcelain. The benefits of mid-range include firing in our electric kilns in an oxidation atmosphere resulting in brighter underglaze and stain colors, a more extensive color palette of underglazes and stains, whiter porcelain surfaces and more consistency in glaze results.
If you've wanted to have your own kiln, then perhaps mid-range is for you.
Check out our classes for the Spring term. Registration begins Monday February 21, online and in person at the studio.
Our Spring class schedule has some new classes! We have added fused glass and jewelry making classes!
